Were they actually selling any for $130? I can buy them tanned here for $40-$50.
Yeah, they had some professionally tanned coyotes going for $200 something (I think they were $240) at Cabelas in Verdi last christmas season.. The guy at the show was a fur buyer and he was selling them like hotcakes on the gun show circuit he said....
To people that don't know how to hunt coyotes thats a bargain I suppose...
Last year I sold 40 coyote pelts to a guy that was re-decorateing his summer house at Lake Tahoe..I charged him $10 a piece...still frozen, not stretched, fleshed or sewn..He took them all straight to his taxidermist in California.. and some of those were pretty well full of holes....lol
So there's a market out there..
Billyho, did you find that info on Moyle's? I was happy with the turnaround and you don't have to pay until your furs are done..

Obama is an idiot...Thats all I have to say about that...
Any idea what Fur Prices are? I got spoiled on the $50 to $80 pelts in the late 70's and 80's. I would make as much money Trapping in the Winter as I did working Construction through the Spring and Summer. I grew up in Elko and at that time our Summer Coyotes were going for $50. We had problems with the Southern Trappers coming in and taking Coyotes. It was a big issue at the Fur Sales.
This what I heard... Muskrats- 8-10 Raccoon- 15-20 Coyote- 40-50 Red Fox- 15-25 Beaver- 25-35 Mink- 20-25 (Bucks) Skunk- 8-10
Of course these prices are for prime, stretched and dried goods. But not 100%... Wish I knew when a buyer was coming through my area.
I doubt that you'll get half that for Coyotes this year. More like 25 for prime western,, and ALOT less for southern Coyotes..
Probably closer to five on the Coon's too,, but I could be wrong. And I hope I am..
I've been doing some math and have come to the conclusion, that 130.00 apiece is cheap after I add up all the costs for my guns, gas, truck, callers and all the other latest and greatest stuff ya just gotta have.. Al,,, Let me know when ya get yours back from Moyles next year. I'll just buy em from you and stay in my nice warm bed this winter...
Money can't buy happiness,,, but it can buy you a Goat.
Yeah probably true...I also heard ground squirrels are like only going to be a buck or two... But it also just matters where you are at and whos buying, Im thinking about trying sell most of my pelts on ebay to see what I can get.
If I had all the money I've spent on guns, I'd spend it all on guns.
